Expedition to Tibet

Artem Puchkov photo by a Tiksey monasteryClimbing unapproachable mountain tops and passes, immersing in mountain rivers, conversing with Buddhist monks from ancient monasteries and with common people, Artem absorbed the energy of holy places visited by Nicholas Roerich himself, discovered new old truths that make life never the same, then made hundreds of sketches and studies.

The most impressive works created on this basis were selected by the Roerich Society for the Roerich Museum, as the payback and the goal of arranging the expedition.

In 2000, a collection of 47 works dedicated to Tibet, that the artist has submitted for a foreign exhibition, was “lost” by the unscrupulous dealer. Some of the paintings have resurfaced in Prague art salons, that Artem found on a voyage. Salon owners immediately offered him work contracts with residence. Since 2003, Artem regularly has his paintings bought out by Czech dealers, and spends some time in Prague painting the city scenes for local galleries.
